The company does this via the Internet instead of telephone polls. We believe strongly that traditional phone polls are no longer viable given that caller ID, cell phones, and the "Do Not Call" registry have given people just the latitude they need to say no to phone polls.

PollingPoint carried out 4.9 million online interviews during 2008. Our only business is polling. We do not sell or rent e-mail addresses or attempt to market anything to survey respondents. We believe people's opinions on important political and social issues are meaningful and important — and we provide a forum for gathering, analyzing, and channeling that information to candidates, lawmakers, media outlets, non-profit groups, and others who have an interest in public debate.

YouGovPolimetrix is strictly non-partisan, and has many different kinds of clients including political pollsters of both parties, media organizations, non-profit groups and university scholars.
