Respondents Adapt Travel Plans to Financial Constraints

Americans are often accused of working too hard. With an economic slump, people who are already busy are finding an added disincentive to go on vacation. PollingPoint surveyed respondents on their travel habits and dream trips.

How often do you go on vacation?

When do you usually go on vacation?

How long is your typical trip?

Where do you prefer to travel?

What do you like to do when you travel?

Have you changed your travel plans due to the high prices of gas and plane tickets?

If you could visit any destination, where would you go and why?

Galapagos Islands for the wildlife, Venice for the romance, and the Great Barrier Reef for the diving.

New Zealand is on my must-visit list.

I’d like to go Hawaii with my entire family to revisit where I started my married life. I’d also like to go to Alaska, so my kids could see how beautiful it is.

A beach in the Carolinas. I love the ocean.

A cruise around the world. I am getting older and a cruise is the easiest form of travel for me now.

A private island in the Caribbean where I could relax and enjoy the weather and the solitude.

Anywhere! Someplace with a good value and many sights to see.
