POLL RESULTS

Dinner and Flowers are the Top Valentine's Day Gifts

PollingPoint asked what is your favorite gift to give or receive for Valentine's Day. Almost half of all respondents said that Dinner and Flowers were their top choices for gifts. It was clear, however, that there is a strong contingent of people that don't like celebrating Valentine's Day at all. Almost 15% of you said that you prefer not to celebrate, coming in 3rd behind dinner and flowers. Our best advice is to avoid stuffed animals (which came in dead last) and stick to nice dinners, flowers, and jewelry to impress your significant other this Valentine's Day!

What is your favorite gift to give or receive for Valentine's Day?

When we break down the results by gender, some interesting differences emerge. 17% of all females prefer jewelry as a gift, but it's clear that the males would prefer to just go to a nice dinner, as only 6% of males stated that jewelry was a favorite gift to give versus 28% that prefer dinner. Males are also more likely to prefer not to celebrate Valentine's Day when compared to females - 19% of Males prefer not to celebrate the holiday, but only 10% of females agree.

What is your favorite gift to give or receive for Valentine's Day? By Gender

We also wanted to know if Red Roses are still the best choice when it comes to love and Valentine's Day. We asked respondents that said flowers were their favorite gift to give or receive if they preferred red roses, other colors of roses, or preferred flowers other than roses.

Guys, listen up! While males clearly preferred red roses as their favorite to give, females, however, seem to like getting roses that are not strictly red and flowers other than roses.
